Translation Residencies 2019 with Publishing Scotland
Cove Park is delighted to continue its Translation Programme, in partnership with Publishing Scotland, to bring two translators of Scottish books for a two-week residency each to Cove Park this autumn. The programme is designed to develop the writers’ practice and boost the profile of literary translation.
The aim of the residency is to enable literary translators of books by Scotland-based authors to familiarize themselves with the surrounding from which the books originated.
The residencies will run alongside this year’s Translation Week, which welcomes five English-language translators to Cove Park to work on their translation projects and benefit from each other’s expertise and feedback. Translation Week is a biannual translation residency co-organised by the National Centre for Writing based in Norwich (see a separate call for applications here).
Beside self-catering accommodation and participation in Translation Week, successful applicants will receive £150 towards the cost of travel and living expenses.
The residency will run for two weeks between Monday, 4 November and Monday, 25 November 2019.
