Cove Park is delighted to continue our Translation Programme, in partnership with the National Centre for Writing, to offer a week-long residency for up to
7 literary translators this autumn. Thanks to support from the AHRC Open World Research Initiative’s flagship project Language Acts and Worldmaking, we are able to expand the programme and specifically invite one drama translator, and an L2 translator (working into their second language) to the programme.

Translation Week will run from

Monday, 11 November to Monday, 18 November 2019.

During the day, participating translators will have time to focus on their own translation projects. In the evenings, there will be opportunities to discuss work in progress with their peers and share any translation challenges they face.

The residencies will run alongside this year’s Publishing Scotland translation residencies, which welcome two translators of Scottish literature into their working languages to Cove Park (see a separate call for applications here).

Translators in residence will be offered self-catering accommodation and a contribution of £150 towards their travel and living costs.

We invite applications from literary translators working from any language and genre into English, with at least one spot reserved for a drama translators and one for an L2 translator.

Please read the Translation Guidelines fully before applying.

The deadline is Sunday, 18 August 2019.

Successful applicants will be notified on or before Monday, 9 September 2019.
