We are very pleased to announce that SEONA REID CBE has been appointed the new Chair of Cove Park’s Board. She takes over from Peter Jacobs who, with his wife Eileen, founded Cove Park in 2000 and has been its Chairman ever since.

Peter said: “In thirteen short years Cove Park has grown from a dream that Eileen and I had of a special place where artists could be free to create as they wish, into a centre unique in the UK and a vital part of the Scottish cultural scene. We are absolutely delighted that Seona will be taking us into a new era, one of capital expansion and growth in our artistic programmes. Seona has been a trustee for ten years and there could not be a better time for us to benefit from her experience, knowledge and energy. We look forward greatly to working with her at this transforming time for Cove Park.”

Seona Reid has had a highly distinguished career, most recently as Director of the Glasgow School of Art. She is a previous Director of the Scottish Arts Council and has extensive management and governance experience across all the artforms. Seona is also Chair of National Theatre of Scotland, a Trustee of Tate and Deputy Chair of the Heritage Lottery Fund.

Seona said “Cove Park is an amazing place and it has been a real pleasure for me, over the past decade of my involvement, to watch the way it has encouraged such a range of creative people here and abroad. I look forward to continuing to pursue the dream of its founders Peter and Eileen. Their generosity and vision have greatly influenced the cultural landscape of Scotland. We owe them a great debt and I am delighted that they will both remain on the Board. I also look forward to working with Cove Park’s team of specialist staff, whose experience and commitment are key to what makes Cove Park the special place it is.”
