Hanna is a British-Japanese writer based in London. She has just completed the MA in Prose Fiction at UEA and her debut novel Who Wants to Live Forever will be published in Spring 2025 (Brazen Books / Hachette). In 2022, she won the Morley Prize for Unpublished Writers of Colour, was longlisted for the Space to Write Project, and was accepted as a mentee on the Asian Women Writers programme.

Her writing is informed by the values and principles that are evident in her other work, as a strategist, designer, facilitator, researcher and coach for organisations working towards social and environmental justice. She has spent the last sixteen years working in advocacy and campaigns, co-founding the gender justice organisation Level Up and working at the heart of the environmental movement at Greenpeace International and 350.org. She currently works as a strategic advisor to UN Global Pulse where she is researching how art, imagination, and creative practice can be in service of organisational transformation. Previously, she was Chief Product Officer at 350.org, Co-founder at Level Up, Campaigns and Culture Director at Ekō (SumOfUs), and Board Trustee at Free Tibet and Girls Rock London.
