Cove Park is committed to supporting and promoting work in specialist art forms and this two-month residency supports an established UK based artist working in ceramics.  The residency is supported by the G & E Pollitzer Charitable Settlement,  the Craignish Trust and the London Talks Series. Its purpose to provide the artist with time and space to explore and develop their practice within the context of Cove Park’s international and multi disciplinary programme, and with the full use of workshop and ceramic facilities available.

James Rigler is a London based ceramic artist. His work is a sculptural response to the everyday objects that surround us. Since graduating from the Royal College of Art in 2007 he has exhibited his ceramics in UK and International shows including SuperVision: British Ceramics & Glass in Beijing, China, in 2010 and is part of the UK Crafts Council Collection.

Having developed a very particular way of working with clay and moulds, Rigler plans to use his time at Cove Park to explore new methods of making with a more experimental approach than his current practice allows. This he feels will renew his relationship with clay and introduce other materials into the work.
