Maura Bedloe is a writer based in Tasmania, Australia. She is coming to Cove Park on an independently funded residency to develop a new work that blends memoir, fiction, and historical record. Maura’s work reflects her fascination with absence and presence, intergenerational connection to place, and the way people, particularly children, compose their own truths in the absence of facts. Walking is central to Maura’s writing practice, and she is looking forward to exploring on foot while she is in Scotland, particularly the Rosneath Peninsula, which has significance to her Scottish ancestors. She is also hoping to develop some illustrations for the memoir during her residency at Cove Park.

Maura has recently completed her first novel, and she is represented by Gaby Naher of Left Bank Literary, Sydney.
