Magnetic 4 Residency: Open Studio

Courtesy of Mathilde Dewavrin.

Please join us on Friday 10 April 2026, from 2.30pm, at Cove Park for an Open Studio event with French artist-architect Mathilde Dewavrin.

Mathilde’s residency is part of Magnetic, the programme of Franco-UK residency exchanges managed by Fluxus Art Projects. Cove Park is the Scottish partner in Magnetic, working in tandem with the Villa Arson, Nice.

This free event forms part of Mathilde’s eight-week residency at Cove Park and coincides with the next call for applications for the fifth round of Magnetic Residencies in 2027.

Mathilde invites attendees to join her in the exploration of stones. By looking closely at them, the group will move through ideas of heritage and craft, paying close attention to the quieter, less dominate narratives of the Rosneath Peninsula. As Mathilde shares about her process and methodology, attendees will be encouraged to contribute to Stonelore, a growing collection of stories about pebbles, geological faults, and mountains. The Open Studio will include a short 10-minute walk from the Jacobs Building to the studio, followed by a participatory workshop. The session will conclude with an open discussion.

This is the ideal opportunity to find out more about Magnetic Residencies, to see Cove Park, and meet some of our other national and international residents.

Please reserve your free place by emailing Alex Marrs (Senior Producer – Awarded Residencies). Everyone is welcome. A guide to traveling to Cove Park is available here.

This event is made possible with support from Fluxus Art Projects and the Magnetic Residencies partners.
