Cove Park is based on the Rosneath Peninsula in Argyll on Scotland’s west coast. The site is 45 miles northwest of Glasgow and 20 miles west of Helensburgh.

Traveling to Cove Park

Reflecting our Sustainable Travel Policy, we encourage residents and visitors to use public transport and to slow travel to Cove Park when possible.

By public transport

Trains run every half hour between Glasgow and our nearest town, Helensburgh. The journey time from Glasgow Queen Street to Helensburgh Central is approximately 45 minutes.

Trains also run from Glasgow Central to Gourock, where a connecting passenger ferry service makes the 15-minute crossing to Kilcreggan on the Rosneath Peninsula (excluding Sundays). Ferry tickets can be purchased onboard by card. Be careful not to catch the larger passenger ferry to Dunoon which leaves from the adjacent pier.

The onward journey to Cove Park can be made either by bus or local pre-booked taxi.

The bus stop for Cove Park is Peaton Hill/Ardpeaton. It is approximately 45 minutes via the 316 bus service from Helensburgh to this stop and eight minutes from the pier in Kilcreggan. Bus tickets can be purchased onboard by card. Please note, Peaton Hill is very steep, and it is a 10-minute walk from the bus stop to the site entrance. If help is required, please contact Cove Park in advance of your journey.

By car from Glasgow

On the M8, go west through Glasgow. Cross the Erskine Bridge going North. Take the A82, signed Crianlarich. Continue on the A82 turning left into the A817, signed Garelochhead. Drive ten minutes to roundabout and take road signed Arrochar. Drive one mile to second roundabout and take road signed (in red) Coulport. After four miles turn left immediately after the Accident Blackspot sign. Continue to T-junction and turn right. Follow the hill down. The site entrance is on the left.

Our nearest electric vehicle charging point is located five minutes away at Cove Burgh Hall and is a 22kW Dual BP Chargemaster.

By plane

Glasgow International Airport is 10 minutes by shuttle bus from Paisley Gilmour Street train station, where you can meet the Glasgow to Gourock train service and catch the passenger ferry to Kilcreggan (see Public Transport above).

Taxis can be pre-booked for the journey from Glasgow International to Cove Park using Peninsula Cabs or Tartan Wolf (01436 406080).
