We are very pleased to share an open call for applications for a one-month residency this year at Varuna, The National Writers’ House, Australia. This funded residency is open to writers who are former Cove Park residents and members of Cove Park’s Associates programme.

Established in 2019, with support from The Bridge Awards, this exchange programme has to date welcomed Australian author Roanna Gosalves to Cove Park, and seen Vicky MacKenzie travel from Scotland to Australia to be based at Varuna in the same year.

The Varuna residency in 2022 will take place from 25 September to 22 October, timed to coincide with the Blue Mountains Writers’ Festival. This is a funded residency, and travel costs to Australia are supported by The Bridge Awards.

The deadline for applications is Monday 25 April (by midnight) and applications should be submitted directly to Varuna via the online application form.

For further information, please contact Alex Marrs (Cove Park Programmes & Communications Producer) directly.
