Anthea Hamilton (born London, 1978) lives and works in London. She graduated from Wimbledon School of Art in 1997, Leeds Metropolitan University in 2000 and Royal College of Art in 2005 and has been exhibiting her work nationally and internationally since 2006. Recent solo exhibitions include: The Prude (Thomas Dane Gallery, London, 2019), The New Life (Secession, Vienna, Austria, 2018) and The Squash (Tate Britain, London, 2018). Recent group exhibitions include: Objects of Wonder – From Pedestal to Interaction (ARoS Aarhus Kunstmuseum, Denmark, 2019), May You Live In Interesting Times (Biennale di Venezia 58, Venice Italy), Selflessness (Kunstnernes Hus, Oslo, Norway, 2019) and Objects of Wonder: British Sculpture 1950s – Present, from the Tate Collection (Palais Populaire, Berlin, 2019). Hamilton was nominated for the Turner Prize in 2016 and her work is included in several major national public collections.
