Interweaving Threads Residency: Open Studio

Owen Edward Snaith X Cheddar Gorgeous, V&A Dundee, 2024, Photography Holly Quinn

Our next Open Studio event on Friday 22 May from 3pm features Norwegian textile craft practitioner, artist, and designer Ingrid Bjørnevog Haugnes and Scottish fashion and textile designer Owen Edward Snaith.

Ingrid and Owen were awarded the Interweaving Threads: Scotland & Norway Through Dress Residency, part of a year-long programme for textile artists, designers, and makers based in Scotland and in Norway. The residency aspect of this programme was launched at MUHO in Norway in April, and this second residency at Cove Park provides Ingrid and Owen with further time for supported research into traditional dress, fashion, and textiles, including access to national and regional archive and dress collections.

We are delighted to have this opportunity to introduce you to both designers and to share new work in progress in the studio. We will also be joined on the day by Dr. Kitty Milward, co-organiser of the Interweaving Threads programme with Camilla Rossing, Director of the Norwegian Institute for Bunad and Folk Costume.

Please reserve your free place by emailing Alex Marrs (Senior Producer – Awarded Residencies). Everyone is welcome. A guide to traveling to Cove Park is available here.
