How can we use our creative energy in fun and thoughtful ways to pave the way for a greener and fairer future?
Heather Marshall is an artist and campaigner who uses her creativity to highlight important socio-political issues. In this session, we’ll take inspiration from street art, tracing its roots from New York City in the 1980s, where messages were sent across the city on trains, to today’s growing trend for eco-friendly, removable street art, including paper-based tape art, reverse graffiti, and moss art.
Using these ideas, we’ll explore ways to communicate the changes we want to see in our local area. For example, advocating for better sustainable and public travel options in our rural community, which would not only reduce carbon emissions but also improve the lives of disabled people and families on low incomes.
This free Saturday Studio workshop is for children aged 5-16 to attend with their parents or carers. Children over 8 years old may attend without an accompanying adult. Please book a ticket for each person attending.
If you have questions about workshop accessibility, please get in touch with Emma Henderson (Curator of Engagement).
