Born 1969, lives and works in Middelburg, the Netherlands.
Carolina Apolonia studied silversmithing and jewellery design at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp.
Carolina Apolonia’s work often involves the construction of abstract versions of boxes, rooms, buildings and cities that mirror her personal dreams and fears. She is interested in the ways in which walls simultaneously define and shut out space. Employing a wide variety of traditional and non-traditional materials, she embraces in her work the ways in which materials age and transform over time.
