Spotlight on 25: Vincenzo Latronico
In celebration of our 25th Anniversary, our second Spotlight on 25 is by Italian writer and translator Vincenzo Latronico.
‘I’ve had the chance to experience in two different forms Cove Park’s generosity and commitment to fostering the arts. As an advisor on translation for its awarded residencies programme, I have witnessed the breadth and quality of its applicants, and the care and thought invested in their selection; as a resident myself, I was deeply surprised at how much I have been able to accomplish in what I felt was (but don’t we always) a very short time. I owe the best metaphor in my next novel to the beautiful days spent writing in front of the fireplace at the Jacobs Building library. I cannot be grateful enough.’
Since 2022, Vincenzo has been an advisor for our Awarded Residencies programme resulting in residency placements for translators Nadiyah Abdullatif, Polly Barton, Kuppuswamy Ganesan, Andrew Reubens, and Csilla Toldy. In 2025, we welcomed Vincenzo to Cove Park for a residency prior to presenting at the Edinburgh International Book Festival.
Vincenzo Latronico is an Italian writer and translator. His fourth novel, Perfection, has been translated into over 30 languages and was shortlisted for the International Booker Prize. He lives in Milan.
