Saturday Studios – Spring Ritual

Gorse in Spring (photography, Alan Dimmick)

This Saturday Studio workshop invites participants to explore the rhythms of the spring season through movement, theatre, and writing. Led by interdisciplinary artist and former resident Andrea Ling, whose practice explores rekindling rituals and bringing communities together, we’ll explore how seasonal traditions can offer care, connection, and meaning in modern life.

What to Expect:

  • A supportive environment for all ages to reflect and create together.
  • Exercises in movement and theatre that tap into the rhythms of spring.
  • Writing prompts to spark imagination and deepen personal reflection.
  • The workshop will culminate in a special outdoor ritual, featuring fire, to honour the season and the shared journey of the day.

Practical Details:

  • Please dress warmly and bring outdoor-appropriate clothing for the fire ritual.
  • Please wear comfortable clothing to move in indoors.
  • No prior experience is necessary—just an open heart and a willingness to participate.

This workshop is for children to attend with their parents or carers. Children over 8 years old may attend without an accompanying adult. Please book a ticket for each person attending. If you have questions about workshop accessibility, please get in touch with Emma Henderson (Curator of Engagement).
