Tina West is a theatre maker, writer and yogi based in Fife. Her practice includes vocal and sound production, ethnography and visual poetry. Current projects explore and investigate how absence informs presence where glimpses of past and present cultures, identities, and natural phenomena—embedded in sea scraps washed up on shorelines—can be woven together to reveal compelling stories of humanity and the natural world

Tina worked extensively as a theatre director throughout the 1990’s and 00’s and was the first SAC funded Drama Artist in Residence in Aberdeen (1993-1996). She was the Artistic Director of Awarehaus Theatre creating, producing and touring small-midscale multi-disciplinary work in venues across Scotland and Europe. In 2017, Tina was awarded a scholarship bursary to study Masters in Playwriting and Dramaturgy at University of Glasgow. She is a recipient of the Scottish International Education Trust Award supporting her research and studies. In 2018, she was selected as teaching artist for STDN & Magnetic North’s Space & Time retreat. In 2019, she was shortlisted by Playwrights’ Studio Scotland for a New Playwright Award.

Tina will be exhibiting visual poetry at Glasgow Many Studios with Offpage Vispo in April 2025 along with 12 other artists.
