Anna Olson is an interdisciplinary artist and recipient of the Cove Park Associate Maker/Designer Award 2023.

Since graduating with an MFA in Fine Art and Humanities in 2021 Anna has been unpacking a pilgrimage she undertook as part of her studies. Deeply concerned by a personal and collective disconnect with the rest of nature, Anna walked the length of the River Tay, solo wild camping, carrying supplies and only drinking river water. She had two intentions: to be open and to connect.

After studying creative and critical writing alongside philosophy and advanced art practice, Anna’s creative approach shifted both in terms of material enquiry and methodology, changing perspective from outcome-oriented to process-led. Increasingly Anna creates through a felt sense, the embodiment of lived experience and ‘other’ ways of knowing, which is now intertwined with the liminality and intra-connectivity of found objects and other creative practices.

Anna is currently working on a ‘library of books’, where metaphorical pages are turned, and footnotes added.
