RL Wilson is an artist living and working in Cumbria. Their research and practice is multidisciplinary, collaborative and socially embedded; focusing on liveness and place – including working with and combining sound, performance, text and the moving image. Crucial to their practice is the facilitation and support of both non-arts people and established practitioners – chiefly in relation to site or location.

Ongoing projects include: As producer and programmer for RE Drift – a platform for contemporary artists in West Cumbria. As part of this Wilson initiated a local, informal group that responds to hyper-local and wider social concerns via artistic, ecological, and mental health dialogues.

As annual host and collaborator for Soundcamp in conjunction with Full of Noises; collaborating with Artists, musicians and academics, through live performance and time-based methodologies throughout Cumbria. These are live events both with in-person audiences and via online broadcast.

Wilson has recently begun a PhD by Practice via Northumbria University; researching the role of Art and its contribution to knowledge, of the effects of mass tourism on the environment.

Their aims for the residency is to further explore current research as practice and Cove Park within the context of this research.
