Richard Luke is a Glasgow-based multi-instrumentalist composer and producer who specialises in minimal piano, orchestral strings, glitches and beats. His music is used in award-winning films (including the Bafta-winning Betty by Will Anderson), TV and games as well as for release on various labels such as Moderna, 1631 Recordings & Highpony.

Tracked in a church in Glasgow’s West End, Luke’s sophomore release, Glass Island is co-written and performed with Scottish Chamber Orchestra violinist, Amira Bedrush-McDonald. The album explores the tensions of living on an island in the wake of referendums on leaving the EU and Scottish independence. The songs, explains Luke, have “confidence and strength, but also a fragility and drama”.
