Working across sculpture, video, sound, text and performance, Aniara Omann describes her practice as: ‘… an exploration of the boundaries of individual objects, and the seeming paradox of simultaneous interconnectedness and individuality.’ She often draws upon the aesthetic language of science fiction and employs casting techniques to produce objects with life-like qualities and varying degrees of recognisability and abstraction.

This residency offers the artist a period of research and experimentation and the opportunity to focus upon the integration of writing, sound and music in to her work. This will involve a consideration of the song as an object and the potential of sound to shape the attitudes and identity of a space.
