Emile Chabal
Duration
Emile Chabal is a political and intellectual historian specialising in postwar Europe. He is currently a faculty member at the University of Edinburgh. During this residency at Cove Park, Emile is convening a group of scholars who have collaborated with him on a British Academy-funded project examining race, identity, and political mobilisation in France and the UK since the 1970s.
As the project approaches its conclusion, this residency provides an invaluable opportunity to delve into the collected material and reassess the project’s aims and objectives. It is anticipated that this endeavor will yield innovative perspectives that could significantly enhance our understanding of the role of identity in contemporary democratic theory and practice.
Joining Emile at Cove Park are Camilla Schofield, Alex Hensby, Jacob Bard-Rosenberg, Liam Liburd, and Daniel Gordon.
