The UK Literature residency offers a writer resident anywhere in Britain the opportunity to work on their own project whilst in the company of artists across other artforms. The residency, of up to six weeks in length, can be for writers in any genre, including poetry, memoir and fiction. Previous UK Writer residents include Brian Chikwava, Russell Celyn Jones, Claire Wigfall, Helen Cross.
Helen Farish, from Cumbria, is the author of Intimates, winner of the Forward prize for Best First Collection and shortlisted for the TS Eliot Prize. She is very interested in the relationship between poetry and the body and poetry and music. A new collection Nocturnes at Nohane was published Bloodaxe in 2012 (with readings performed to music) and a third collection will be published in 2013.
