Andrea Ling is an interdisciplinary artist (director, writer, dramaturg & practitioner) who advocates for social change and connection through art. Her work falls within theatre, installation, film and visual arts. Andrea was a recent recipient of the Jerwood Live Work award, 2020. Currently her practice explores de-colonial approaches to environmentalism developing co-created/ co-curated art projects within communities creating positive relationships with nature. Arts company PACHA PEOPLE will house this new practice debuting PACHA: an interactive-audio-touch installation of plants and soil. Commissioned by Good Chance Theatre, PACHA will be exhibited in April at the Museum of the Home, and is co-made with BIMPOC residents in Hackney, London. Andrea has also worked as a director, artistic associate, dramaturg and assistant director at leading theatres including: Young Vic, Royal Court, Metis Arts, Paper Birds Theatre Company, National Theatre’s New Work Department, Shakespeare’s Globe and New Earth Theatre. Recent work includes: ‘Anatomy of a Suicide’ by Alice Birch (Director, Corbet Theatre); ‘God & Monster’ (writer, commissioned by New Earth Theatre) and ‘Miss Philippines’ by Rogelio Braga (Director, New Earth Theatre).
