Niamh Gordon is a writer and interdisciplinary researcher from Manchester, based in Glasgow. She has an MA in Prose Fiction from the University of East Anglia, and is in the final year of a PhD in Creative Writing and Narrative Studies at the University of Glasgow. Her research is funded by the AHRC and explores narrative time and how it functions; representations of bereavement by suicide; affective and lyric modes; and motherhood and embodiment. She is also interested in narrative (un)reliability, and walking as creative practice. Her fiction, essays and poetry have featured in publications including ‘Gutter’, ‘Motherlore’, ‘New Writing Scotland’, ‘CreativeCritical.net’, and ‘The Polyphony’.

Throughout 2025 Niamh was a creative resident at the Alasdair Gray Archive, exploring the relationship between play, process and creative practice through a series of workshops, site-specific poetry, and processural writing. She was formerly a Research Assistant for the DeathWrites Network, coordinating a network of Scotland-based writers working on writing relating to dying, death, grief and loss. Niamh is a member of art collective Babe Station which interrogates the relationship between motherhood and art-making, and writes an occasional Substack newsletter, notes from home, which can be found at niamhgordon [dot] substack [dot] com.
