Jo Birch is unfolding and developing as a photographer and videographer. As a psychotherapist, Jo has supported many people to navigate the challenges of life through the therapeutic use of visual imagery. She recently found her own delight in creating images, especially monochrome photography, and storytelling through street photography and film. This residency will strip away the usual demands of work and enable Jo to hold space for new perspectives and visual arts projects to emerge and flourish.

Previously, Jo has had photographic work accepted for exhibitions at Doncaster Art Fair (Theme: Art as a response to Mental Health), Shambellie House, Dumfries (Theme: Community), and Glasgow Gallery of Photography (Themes: Street, Darkness Falls).
