Janine Mitchell is a final year Doctoral Researcher. She has a Master of Research in Humanities from the University of Stirling. Her practice-led doctoral research project is focused on Central and Southern Africa and the creation of biographical narratives. She received the Scottish Universities Research Collection Associate Scheme Award for the development of the Mackay Archive and has written a biographical novel, Freedom Road. Her doctoral work, funded by SGSAH, led to an association with The Likhubula Partnership (Scotland-Malawi Partnership) where she has collected oral histories during field work in Malawi and around the UK and developed their digital archive.
