Kaljeven Singh Lally is a writer and director based in Glasgow. As a writer, he focuses on stories specific to his voice and lived experiences as a Sikh person raised in Scotland; combined with his love of cinema. As a writer he has a feature film, Five Thieves, in early development with Screen Scotland/Short Circuit. Another feature film project, ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ / Responsibility, was selected for the inaugural Funny Features talent lab run by Glasgow Film Festival and the BFI. He was also selected to the Channel 4 New Writers Scheme where he is currently developing and writing a pilot episode of a TV show.

Over the past few years, he’s directed 13 episodes of the continuing drama ‘River City’ and directed 2nd Unit on dramas such as ‘Shetland’ (Season 8) and ‘Screw’ (Season 2). He began working in the industry in post production where he climbed the ranks of the department going from trainee to assistant editor to editor across several years.
