Katie Fraser is a Scottish playwright. She collaborated with Framework Theatre to produce Play Pretend (Traverse, October 2023). She has worked with Strange Town to write plays for their youth theatre, Dungeons and Flagons (2022) and I Was Here (2023) as well as their Young Company, You Don’t Know This Yet (2024, Scottish Storytelling Centre). In 2023 she was a Playwright Studio Scotland’s Mentored Playwright. As a workshop facilitator she has worked for The Royal Lyceum Edinburgh, Strange Town, Edinburgh Youth Theatre and Fringe in Schools. Her work is rooted in place, memory and Scottish landscapes and culture.

During her residency at Cove Park, Katie will work on a new play about entering parenthood and the ability to understand oneself and others in this new arena. As a Gaelic learner, she is keen to spend time incorporating the Gaelic language into her work.
