Meghan Flaherty is the author of Tango Lessons (2018, Mariner). She writes lyrical and hybrid nonfiction and fiction. Her essays and reviews have appeared in VQR, O, The Oprah Magazine, The Iowa Review, Psychology Today, Parents, and online at the New York Times, The Paris Review, Slate, The New Inquiry, and elsewhere. Her essay “Ode to Gray” was named notable in 2019’s Best American Essays, and her essay “On Not Becoming An Ecosexual” in 2024’s Best American Science & Nature Writing. She has an M.F.A. in Creative Writing and Literary Translation from Columbia University, and has published translations of poetry and short fiction from Spanish. In 2022, she awarded a Scottish Book Trust Ignite Fellowship to finish her second book. She’s currently working on a novel about the Eleusinian mysteries and perimenopause.
