Mica Georgis is a filmmaker and writer based in London. Their films have screened at international festivals including Outfest LA, Leeds International Film Festival, Cork International Film Festival, Aesthetica and LSFF. Their work has been exhibited at galleries including the Institut du Monde Arabe, Paris and the ICA, London. Their first film ISHTAR is available to watch on BBC iPlayer. They are the curator and editor of RAT Zine, a collection of new work by 13 queer and trans artists, which launched at the ICA and is available in bookstores across the UK. They screened their latest video work The Luwr at the ICA Cinema and in a group exhibition as part of Conditions, Croydon programmed by Matthew Noel-Tod. An extract from their new film Oh…Mallards!! is published in Prototype Publishing’s latest anthology PROTOTYPE 6. Last month they took part in CPH:DOX Academy in Copenhagen led by filmmaker Therese Henningsen and for the past year and a half they have taken part in Conditions Studio Programme.
At Cove Park they will be working on two new short stories. The first, about property development in Bodrum, Turkey and the second, about the industrial action that occurred during the construction of the Barbican arts centre.
