Sherry Wang is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice incorporates pigment making, dyeing, and material innovation. Her art practice takes seriously the processes of making, emphasising the labour of materialisation, which involves vigorous bodily engagement with the environment and materials — including searching, gathering, grinding, and more. Thus, production labour is a crucial theme in her work. She explores the entanglement between nature, people, place, memory, and culture.
Her current projects investigate the relationships between ecology and women, exploring the embodied narratives and emotional boundaries of contemporary women through herbal knowledge and practices.
