P. Harvey Newell & Isobel Cawley
Duration
P. Harvey Newell is a Lecturer in Creative & Critical Writing at Birkbeck University. Their essays and poetry have featured in Social Text, The Poetry Review, Magma, Performance Research, Liminalities, and 3AM, amongst others. They recently completed the manuscript of a debut novel. Their creative-critical research is situated in the environmental humanities as it extends from or toward critical race studies and queer theory.
Isobel Cawley is a Morecambe-based curator and researcher working across multiple curatorial initiatives in the North West. She is developing a research-led curatorial practice that merges critical discourse with visual arts, with a focus on expanding research capacity within exhibition-making practices sensitive to the environment and to the choreographic.
Together, they are working on the visual articulation of a research project about calcification in biocapital formations of gender and race, testing various curatorial approaches for the presentation of this research. The exhibition will take place in 2026.
