This two-month residency aims to support a Scottish emerging or established designer/maker. It provides the artist with the time and space to explore new ideas and ways of working within Cove Park’s international and cross-disciplinary programme. Without the requirement of a final project or presentation, this residency is intended to promote the development of new ideas and work.

Previous residents on this programme include Deirdre Nelson, Frances Priest, Laura Spring and Dawn Youll.

Currently based in London, Catherine Aitken trained as a textile designer. She has designed and retailed her own collection of home products and developed a number of textile designs for a range of companies.

Although her practice continues to relate to textile design, her work increasingly leans towards furniture and product design. At Cove Park Aitken intends to explore connections and interrelationships between outdoor and indoor environments.
