Cove Park is delighted to welome 5 writers in residence, here as part of the New Writers’ Award from the Scottish Book Trust.
In 2006 Greg Whelan won the Sloan Prize for Writings in the Scottish Vernacular and has since had short stories published in various collections such as New Writing Scotland,Almost An Island: A Fife Anthology, and the ECA UoE collaborative coffee table book,Garlic and Sapphires.
Louise Peterkin began writing again after joining Diggers writers, a weekly writing workshop founded by the WEA and intended to provide feedback and constructive criticism for its members. She has since performed at many poetry venues including Blind Poetics, TenRed and an event at St Cecelia’s Hall as part of the Edinburgh Festival. Most recently she was featured in the new poet slot at Shore Poets. She has been published as part of the Vers poetry anthology and in New Writing Scotland 34: The Rooftop Busker.
Jen Cooper’s poems have been published in several literary magazines, including The Rialto, Ambit, New Writing Scotland and Envoi. In 2014 she was a winner of the Write Aberdeen/ Write Regensburg competition with her poem ‘Migration’ which appears in Passages, the collection celebrating sixty years of the twinning of the two cities.
They are joined by previous awardees Tracey S Rosenberg and Gary Mackenzie.
