Jude Barber is an architect and director at Collective Architecture with studios in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dundee. Together, the team has delivered key projects around the UK that include Glasgow Women’s Library and the City Observatory Calton Hill, Edinburgh. Jude also has specific expertise in strategic planning having co-designed proposals for Granton Waterfront in Edinburgh, Kirkcaldy in Fife and Water Row in Govan on the River Clyde Glasgow. In parallel with her studio practice, Jude has undertaken several close collaborations that include The Empire Café cultural initiative with writer Louise Welsh with associated award-winning podcast ‘Who owns the Clyde?’. She also co-leads the Voices of Experience project, which investigates women who have made important contributions to architecture and the built environment. Jude is a visiting tutor at the University of Sheffield, an Academician (Elect) of the RSA, and a fellow of The Academy of Urbanism and The Royal Society of Edinburgh (RSE).

Louise Welsh is an award-winning author of eight novels. The Cutting Room, her debut novel, won the Crime Writers’ Association John Creasey (New Blood) Dagger Award and the Saltire First Book of The Year Award. In 2018, she was named the Most Inspiring Saltire First Book Award winner by public vote. She is Professor of Creative Writing at the University of Glasgow.

At Cove Park, Jude and Louise will be planning and producing their podcast – and wider citizen Investigation – ‘Who owns the Clyde?’
