Dan Zell is a designer and writer based in Norwich, currently enrolled in the Creative Writing MA at UEA. His fiction delves into themes of identity, belonging, and solitude, exploring how these experiences are constructed through uniform, ritual, and inherited symbols, and how collective experiences and materiality shape personal narratives.

Dan is the founder of The London Sock Exchange, a design-led business making socks for customers worldwide. Previously, he lived in Berlin, where he founded Toucan, a table-tennis company focused on craft, materials, sustainability, and play.
