Quincy Grant is a freelance composer and musician based in Adelaide/Tandanya, South Australia. He has written and performed music for the theatre, working with companies such as Slingsby, Flying Penquin, Circa, Brink Productions, Queensland Theatre, and State Theatre Company South Australia, and has toured extensively to the USA, UK, Japan and Ireland.

He writes for concert performances and film, having composed two operas and has had many pieces performed by several Australian orchestras and plays in many groups: from rock to new music: most recently wild gypsy music with Golonka, sweet tunes with The Horizon Quartet, and rollicking folk tunes with The Egrets. He is co-director of The Firm, a company that presents concerts each year featuring Australian classical musicians in programmes of new Australian music along-side interesting repertoire. Quincy lives in Adelaide with his dear Anna, and has three children: Arland, Clara and Miranda.

At Cove Park I will be continuing work on the scores for a tryptich of plays Slingsby Theatre is premiering at the 2026 Adelaide Festival in a specially built travelling theatre (which will tour internationally – hopefully to the UK). The three plays cover 3000 years with an overarching theme of deforestation/ reforestation, so as background for this, I am also looking at some of the rewinding projects in Scotland.
