Molly Astley
Duration
Molly Astley is an artist and musician living in London. Guided by exploration of sensory experience and vibrational relations, her work is centred on the porous boundary between body and environment. Through sound, performance, drawing and text, she explores the connections between personal, environmental and collective wellbeing, attuning to both the ephemeral (memory, sensation, image, voice) and the tangible (body, stone, river, branch) in close engagements with specific sites.
Molly holds an MA (Distinction) in Art and Ecology from Goldsmiths and a BA in English Literature from the University of Sussex. She sings with Musarc and has performed at Camden Art Centre (2024), the ICA (2024) and the Barbican (2025), where she has also presented text-based work. Her ongoing project ‘Songs of Silt’ is an experimental choir, exploring sonic-somatic memory, improvising in response to different environments. Trained in Pauline Oliveros’s Deep Listening practice, Molly’s work has been broadcast on Radio Amnion and NoBounds Radio (2024). As a vocalist, she often collaborates with other artists, offering scores for exhibitions and performances, and is currently working on her debut album.
