Dr Alessia Zinnari is a Lecturer in Italian at the University of Glasgow. Her research is grounded in comparative and feminist methodologies, and explores the relationship between trauma, representation, and the construction of identity. In her recent practice, she has moved from focusing solely on the written word to exploring how both text and image can empower individuals who have suffered from adverse experiences.

Alex Withey is an artist & educator, his current work interrogates the representational functions, (mis)understandings, and truths of the photographic image. Mobilizing the vernacular, found, or familial image as a starting point, he is interested in weaving imagined narratives across ecologies of place, history, and power.

At Cove Park, Alessia and Alex will continue developing the methodology for their project CAMERA (Creative Approaches to Memory and Emotion through Research and Art), which uses photography and writing to foster civic engagement and community wellbeing.
