Molly Astley is an artist, poet and musician based in London. Her work is concerned with nature, the body, and the porous boundary between the two. Lead often by improvisational, automatic processes, her practice starts from a place of embodiment and sensory awareness. Recent projects have explored the relationship between the ecological health of the environment, personal health and collective wellbeing. Having trained in the Tamalpa ‘Life/Art Process,’ Molly has a special interest in somatics and in how art can cross-pollinate with movement practises to bring more awareness of place. She will use her time at Cove Park to continue developing and writing a sound project, as well as making field recordings and sketches.
