Rebecca Buckley is an artist, community art facilitator and writer who was born in London. Rebecca graduated with a BA in Writing and Publishing with Drama and spent time working in the film industry as a technician but found her creative vocation as an artist whilst studying Landscape Design. Rebecca is largely self-taught but has enjoyed adult education art classes and is an active member of the peer lead collective AltMFa. Rebecca identifies as a sculptor but also works through print, painting, audio-scapes, text, video and installations.

Rebecca’s work has been selected for exhibition at Piano Nobile in London for ‘Outside In’ and has been part of group exhibitions at Guest Projects and Kopple Project CSM. Rebecca had her first solo exhibition ‘Connections’ as part of Deptford X in 2021.

Rebecca is delighted to be able to come to Cove Park through a bursary from the Artist Information Company’s ‘Time Space Money’ initiative.  Rebecca will be responding to the environment at Cove Park through casting pewter in the surrounding landscape using a self-built portable furnace.  She looks forward to creating transient nature inspired landscape sculptures with the help of her fellow artist Keir Richardson.

Rebecca would like to thank the Society of Model and Experimental Engineers for their kind support, encouragement and practical help in building the mobile furnace for this project. Special thanks to Andy Tidman, Workshop Manager, Steve Bil and Steven Bondfield.
