Georgia Holmer has spent over 25 years working on international human rights, peace and security as a writer, analyst, advisor, and artist. Her creative work explores issues of bodily and emotional autonomy, human dignity in life and death, and the nature of peace and violence. Her art also reflects a reverence and connection to the natural world, its organic beauty and transformative power. She studied painting in Washington, DC and San Francisco and maintained a studio practice while living and working in Athens, Copenhagen and Vienna. She also holds advanced degrees in international human rights law from Oxford University and in international relations from Boston University. In addition to numerous academic publications, she has written two full length plays and has been an active participant in creative writing and storytelling groups. She currently divides her time between Vienna and Glasgow.
