Danielle Chavrimootoo is Director of Dorcas Inclusive Education Consultancy supporting organisations in advancing equality, diversity and inclusion. With over twenty years’ experience in a variety of roles both academic and professional services in Further and Higher Education. Danielle’s background is teaching Health and Social Care in Further Education. Danielle moved into higher education and taught on a range of teacher education programmes where she started to develop her passion and committed to developing inclusive teaching and learning practices. She is currently employed at Kingston University as Senior Lecturer in Teaching and Learning where she leads the Inclusive Teaching and Learning Projects Workstream. Her role involves supporting academics in developing the skills, competencies, and knowledge to develop anti-racist and culturally responsive pedagogy. Danielle is also employed at The Welcome Trust as an Anti-Racist Workstream Consultant. Additionally, she is an administrator for the (Black Asian Minority Women Academics network (BAMEWA). Danielle is currently a guest editor on the “Special Interest” Race Equity Journal in Higher Education for Emerald Publishing and is currently a Doctorate Candidate at Lancaster University.
