Nicolette Macleod is a composer, singer and songwriter based in Glasgow. With chest beaten rhythms, hypnotic vocal looping and acoustic instruments Nicolette arranges songs both old and new. Interwoven with urban and wild landscapes, her songs range from fragile laments to intense textural journeys.

Nicolette will be spending her time at Cove Park re imaging her solo show ‘The Sea and Me’ which is touring in 2022 as part of the Rural Touring supported programme. The show gives us the opportunity to think about our personal relationship with the sea, its creatures and what we are doing to preserve it and in turn, ourselves. As a precursor to the show Nicolette has created ‘SeaGazing’ a podcast where Nicolette and her co-host talk to individuals working in communities and marine conservation in Scotland.

Nicolette is regularly commissioned to compose for theatre and dance. Her vocals have been used in film and on albums receiving prime time radio play on BBC2 and BBC6. Recent commissions include working on Sound Stage, composing the music for new plays; Sophia by Frances Poet and Who Are You by Timberlake Wertenbaker in association with Pitlochry Festival Theatre, Naked Productions and The Royal Lyceum Edinburgh.
