Carrie Rhys-Davies is a multi-disciplinary artist currently based in Bristol. For fifteen years Carrie focused on her work as a creative producer, collaborating with a wide range of artists and companies to develop and produce performance and engagement projects through roles with Tobacco Factory Theatres, Theatre Bristol, Bristol Old Vic, Terrestrial, Bristol Festival of Puppetry and Volcano Theatre, amongst others. Meanwhile, she nurtured a writing practice that embraced text for performance (Mayfest, Tobacco Factory Theatres, Ustinov, et al), reviewing (Total Theatre, Theatre Bristol), hybrid blogging (as resident writer at Mayfest), poetry and fiction.

Over the last few years, Carrie has been seeking to better align her creative self with her working life, taking time out to reflect on what this might look like, whilst travelling, illustrating a book on workplace wellbeing (Routledge, 2020) and continuing to write. At the end of last year she received funding from Arts Council England to develop her creative practice, specifically by bringing writing front and centre of what she does. Her residency at Cove Park is part of this project.
