Dawn Youll’s ceramic practice is informed by the exploration of a personal landscape and the narratives that this can evoke. Her work is underpinned by a fascination with the routine of daily life, and over time this has been revised and refined so that the urban environment, the studio, the domestic setting and the making process itself all play a part in the development of her ornamentally scaled ceramic sculptures.

Youll’s residency at Cove Park forms part of a research project funded by an Inches Carr Craft Bursary received in 2020. She intends to dedicate her time to researching new ideas around form and surface through reading, writing and drawing.
