Eva Corijn is a professional translator who translates from Dutch and Swedish into English. She focuses on writing on the creative side of the spectrum: travel texts about the wilderness of northern Sweden, catalogues for art exhibitions about the Flemish Primitives, or the latest season’s brochure for the Flanders Symphony Orchestra.

Eva also enjoys partnering with clients in the non-profit sector (Doctors Without Borders, Civil Rights Defenders, WWF, Amnesty International), using her words to amplify their messages about human rights, global development, and climate change.

These days, Eva is working to establish herself as a literary translator. In 2024, she attended the BCLT summer school, translating work by Belgian author Bart Moeyaert. That same year, she was mentored by two-time International Booker Prize nominee Nichola Smalley as part of an initiative by the Swedish-English Literary Translators’ Association.

Before embarking on life as a freelancer, Eva worked as a communication professional and radio journalist in Stockholm, where she lives. Eva is passionate about languages, creative writing, feminism and queer spaces, and has a collection of Hoya plants that constantly threatens to turn into a jungle. Her favourite authors are Hilary Mantel, Jeanette Winterson, and Douglas Stuart.

Jonathan Reeder, a native of New York and longtime Amsterdam resident, enjoys a dual career as a literary translator and performing musician. After many years as an orchestral bassoonist, he now translates contemporary Dutch and Flemish fiction and non-fiction as well as opera surtitles and essays on classical music. Recent literary translations include “Strange and Perfect Account from the Permafrost” by Donald Niedekker, “The Sound of Utopia” by Michel Krielaars, and two literary-historic journeys by Mathijs Deen: “Down Old Roads” and “The Boundless River”.
