Enterprise Music Scotland is dedicated to life-long learning and development and has a general remit for artistic excellence in Scotland. Through the Residency Project, EMS provides emerging Scottish based chamber ensembles with unique development opportunities. The Residency Project provides the opportunity for the successful ensemble to perform, collaborate and develop as a group, whilst receiving professional support from EMS.

Scottish soprano Alison McNeill and Iranian-Scottish guitarist Sasha Savaloni are the recipients of Enterprise Music Scotland’s 2015-2017 Residency Project Award.  They have performed recitals in Spain and throughout Scotland, at prestigious events such as Clasicos en Verano Chamber Music Series in Madrid, Westbourne Music Series, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the Big Guitar Weekend Festival.

Whilst at Cove Park they will be working with Scottish composer Stuart MacRae on a new work EMS have commissioned for the duo. One of the most exciting and expressive composers working today, Stuart MacRae is equally at home writing opera, orchestral music, chamber music and music for choirs. Works for the stage include the dance-opera Echo and Narcissus (2007) and the opera Ghost Patrol (2012), a collaboration with writer Louise Welsh for Scottish Opera and Music Theatre Wales, which won the 2013 South Bank Sky Arts Award for Opera and was shortlisted for an Olivier Award.
