Magnus Westwell with Océane Robin
Duration
Scottish artist, performer, and director Magnus Westwell and French movement artist Océane Robin returns to Cove Park for a second residency ahead of their work in progress performance at Edinburgh Art Festival on 14 August 2026.
Magnus and Océane were here earlier this year to develop a new production – Caught Hold of Nothing – creating an ongoing experimental dialogue between movement and sound, where choreography and violin composition evolve in response to one another.
Magnus Westwell is a Scottish artist and director working with choreography, composition and performance. Spanning the euphoric and desolate, Westwell’s work seeks to understand and express states of cathartic transformation through embodied sound.
We are grateful to Eleanor Taylor, EAF Curator, for making this residency possible.
Caught Hold of Nothing is supported by Creative Scotland, Dance Base, Perth Theatre & Concert Hall, Dundee Rep and Scottish Dance Theatre, a Britten Pears Arts residency, The Mandrake Hotel, PRS Foundation, and the Work Room, and developed at Cove Park. Launch Party is supported by the Scottish Government’s EXPO Fund, Cardion Arts, and Whitebox.
