Cove Park’s programme of Early Career Residencies supports UK-based artists in the process of establishing their careers, providing an opportunity for research and the development of new work at this crucial stage. We are pleased this year to offer four residencies to artists specialising in composition/music, crafts/design, literature and visual art. This year, the crafts/design residency has been awarded to Heiba Lamara.

Heiba Lamara is an artist/researcher exploring independent print practices. She is the Assistant Editor of OOMK Zine, a biannual publication that champions the art and activism of women from marginalised communities. She is the co-founder of Rabbits Road Press a small-scale printing press that provides Risograph printing services for artists and community groups in Newham and beyond. Through her work around print, oral histories, libraries and archives she has produced zines, artist books and participatory workshops that use print and independent publishing methods to record and excavate the cultural history of marginalised communities.
